Alamance Regional Medical Center Joins Cone Health Network

Posted

Greensboro-Alamance Regional Medical Center will become part of Cone Health. Boards of both organizations have approved an agreement for Alamance Regional Medical Center to join Cone Health by spring of next year. Details of the partnership are still being finalized.

"Cone Health and Alamance Regional already share the values that will create a strong partnership," says John Currin Jr., President and CEO, Alamance Regional Medical Center. "We have common missions, and our cultures are very similar – both organizations value our patients, our employees and our communities."

"We are both committed to providing the very highest quality care and services. We believe this will create a successful partnership that will allow us to provide exceptional care to our patients," says Tim Rice, President and CEO, Cone Health. "I'm very pleased that we have found such a partner in Alamance Regional Medical Center."

The partnership will bring additional resources to Alamance Regional Medical Center, strengthening its ability to bring even more advanced healthcare options to Alamance County and surrounding areas. For those services not offered at Alamance Regional Medical Center, patients will gain access to Cone Health's expanded network. Alamance Regional Medical Center will retain its name and identity.

The addition of Alamance Regional and its 2,100 employees allows Cone Health to broaden its service area, spread costs and create a more efficient network. There are no plans for layoffs.
In addition to enhanced and expanded healthcare options, the partnership will provide significant resources for additional philanthropic and community non-profit support through a hospital foundation funded by Cone Health.
